Sharks Win Districts
Riverview High School Girls’ soccer team took home a solid win against Durant High School on Jan 28. The final score for this game was 2-0 with goals by both Madison Jones and Aliyah Farmer. Girls’ soccer coach, Coach Fearon, added that home-schooled freshman “Carleigh Scott was amazing, she had 20 saves this game” as the goal keeper for the team. Coach Fearon also included, “We would not have won the game without her” speaking about Carleigh Scott. The Lady Sharks will move on to the district finals against Newsome High School this Thursday Jan. 31 at 7pm.

In other action, the Riverview High School Boys’ soccer team lost 1-0 against Newsome High School on Jan. 29. Their coach, Coach Olson, noted that, “the boys made a mistake which led to Newsome getting a goal” and that is “what made the game”. On a positive note, Coach Olson explained that his team “played well” and had a “good year” overall. Though the boys team lost the playoff game against Newsome, they “have good things planned for their future” Coach Olson added. The final record for the boys’ soccer team this year was 7-8-2. Coach Olson is “excited for what the future seasons will look like” because he has “several promising underclassmen that plan to continue playing throughout high school”.
