In other action, the Riverview Sharks played against Blake High School on Jan. 23 and both the boys and girls team took home the win. The final score for the girls was 8-0, with Alia Farmer being the highest scorer for the game (2 goals). Coach Fearon noted that this game was a “good warm-up for districts,” and that he and his team are “hoping to get to finals,”. Coach Fearon also added that he “feels comfortable about the Eastbay game for districts, as we have beat them in the past,”. Coach Olson led the boys’ soccer team to a victory against Blake as well. As the boys also won 8-0, Coach Olson added that the team, “needed a rebound after a disappointing loss [Bloomingdale],”. Moving forward, Coach Olson mentioned that his team, “needs to solidify a couple of things such as penalty kicks before our district game,”. The boys’ soccer team seeded second, and got a bye, so they do not have to play their first district game until Jan. 29.
