Riverview Boys' and Girls' Soccer Senior Night

The Riverview Boys Varsity Soccer team competed against Alonso High School and won 3-0. Goals were scored Kai Davila (2) and Gilbert Lord. Assists were made by Angel Gradiz and Aden Vallejo.

In the first half, Vallejo passed the ball to Kai Davila who scored the shot into the back of the net. Approximately 15 minutes later, Davila scored another goal assisted by Gradiz. The Sharks ended the half ahead 2-0, going into the next half confident. In the second half, the Sharks were moving the ball nicely, and playing better as a team according to head coach Darik Olson. With 15 minutes to go in the game, Lord scored off the rebounded shot from Andres Quintero, who shot a cannon although it hit post. It was successfully rebounded by Lord turning it into a goal.

Olson says “As we are ending the second half of our regular season, we are starting to come together as a team. We hope to finish these next weeks strong going into districts, and we hope to get out of district and make it to regionals.”

The boys’ team will hold its final home game of the regular season Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. as it will be Senior Night.

Also against Alonso, the girls team won 1-0 as Aliyah Farmer scored from 20 yards out with 11 minutes left in the first half. At half time, the team honored its graduating seniors as part of Senior Night festivities.
