Western Conference Swim Meet

On September 27th, the Riverview Swim Team competed in the Western Conference Swim Meet to qualify for the County Championships. Among those who qualified were Andrew Crone in the boy’s 100 meter-breaststroke, and Correna Ervin in the girl’s 500 meter-freestyle.

Two of the boy’s relays qualified, which is significant considering this is the first time in a decade that a boy’s relay has qualified for County Championships. The two relays to qualify were the 200 meter-freestyle, and 200 meter-medley meaning each athlete had to swim with a different style. The 200 meter freestyle relay was made up of Aden Vallejo, Ryan Hannet, William Crone, and Brian Gomez. The 200 meter-medley relay was made up of Anthony Boyle, William Cerrito, Andrew Crone, and Brian Gomez.

When asked on the meet, Coach Adams, expressed his pride for the boy’s team, saying he hopes they move forward from districts to regionals. The County Championships will occur October 4th, on Friday, at the Bobby Hicks Pool in Tampa.
