State Champ

Last weekend, Alyssa Hendrix claimed first place at the FHSAA Cross Country state meet in Tallahassee. She is ecstatic she finally won.

“I got third my freshman year and second my sophomore year. Now in my junior year, I won first. I celebrated by going out to eat with my friends and family,” Hendrix said.

Hendrix’s plan was to have the lead and keep it for the rest of the race and adjust to any present obstacles. Being a front runner is a difficult task, but Hendrix managed to win leading the pack.

This race was won because she practices harder than most people. Hendrix said, ”This took a lot of hard work and determination I even made sacrifices to my social life.”
