Idol Dates Changed
Riverview High School’s Riverview Idol (a singing competition) is back and auditions which have been rescheduled will be on Sept. 20 and 21. Riverview Idol is not restricted to those in chorus or any other singing classes, but rather is open to anyone. Please note the entry fee is $5. Those interested will have to prepare a verse or sequence and preform it; they can either use music or accompany themselves. The top 25 are chosen to go on to the next stage.
The next stage is the first performance and will be held on Sept. 26. The contestants will have to perform three minutes of a song and the winners will be announced soon after the performance, where the audience will decide on the top 10 and who will go on to the next stage.
The second performance will be held on Oct. 3 and will be judged by three music professionals. The contestants will perform solo and the challenge will be to perform a duet with another contestant; they will be paired at random. At the end of the performance, the judges will pick the next top five.
The final performance will be on Oct. 10 and not only will the contestants perform past winners, some of whom are now professionally singing will perform as well as other groups in the school. The contestants will have to prepare and perform two songs. At the end of the night the winner will be announced. The winner will get to record a song in a recording song booth and receive free professional photography.
